Ben was born 19th May 1965 in Earls Court, London to 60's fashion model Belinda Watson and Fashion Photographer Jean-Claude Volpeliere-Pierrot. As a child he was taught to dance by Mick Jagger and sang to sleep by George Harrison, who were all close family friends.

Ben was introduced into the modeling world at the age of six by his father. He starred in several TV ads including one for 'Kodak', the 'Independent' and pop videos for the likes of 'Thompson Twins' and 'XTC', then going on to become a model in various teenage fashion magazines.

Ben later became a rap artist, performing in various clubs around London before joining 'Curiosity Killed the Cat'. They were first offered studio time by Eric Clapton, who was a close family friend of the 'Volpeliére Pierrots'. Recording a number of songs including 'Curiosity Killed the Cat' which was heard by 'Peter Rosengard' who immediately became their manager.

Following their debut gig at London's 'Embassy Club' in 1984, they began playing various clubs around London, building themselves a large following. Then in 1985 they signed with 'Mercury', where they began recording their first album.

1987 saw the release of their first single 'Down to Earth' which reached No.3. Followed by their debut album 'Keep Your Distance', which entered the UK album charts at No.1 and remained in the top ten for 13 weeks. They then released 'Ordinary Day' which reached No.11, followed by 'Misfit' which reached No.7.

In 1989 they released 'Name and Number', followed by their second album 'Getahead' later that year.

After a change in record label in the early 90's to 'BMG' they made a fantastic comeback with their hit 'Hang on in there baby', which reached No.3 in the UK charts in 1992. Then followed a third album called 'Back to Front'.

In 1995 Ben collaborated with several artists to produce an album under the name of '2 Men 4 Soul'. Ben co-wrote and sang on most of the tracks off this album.

He also featured with Datura on a song titled 'I Love to Dance' which is the title track on an album by Susan Morabito. In 1996 he released a solo single called 'Gotta Get you home...'

In 2000, the band sang 'Down to Earth' on the National Lottery program, followed by several TV appearances from Ben, without the guys. The band also featured on a 'Top Ten Boy Bands' program, which they came in at No.10.

Since Curiosity disbanded, Ben has, by request, continued to perform both live and in the studio and he released a dance remix of "Name And Number" in 2006 (Megafan Records) with the fantastic dance producers "Bimbo Jones" (co-producers with "Meck" of Leo Sayer's "Thunder In My Heart Again") under their aka "Element".

Ben is now writing and producing his debut solo album and is looking forward to another chart return in 2007!
